York Highlands Chorus is an award winning a cappella chorus.  We are a group of women who gather each Tuesday evening in Sharon to sing and rehearse, share in the harmony of friendship and learn the barbershop art form.

York Highlands Chorus was chartered in 1970.  Currently, under the direction of Martha DeClerq, we are based in York Region and the surrounding areas.  Our chorus is one of 750 choruses that comprise Sweet Adelines International.  This worldwide, educational, non-profit organization consists of show choruses and quartets who sing four-part harmony.  Sweet Adelines International has over 30,000 members on five continents.

Annually, our chorus competes regionally with other choruses and the caliber of choruses in our region is one of the highest in the Sweet Adelines organization.  We are proud to say that our chorus places consistently in the top ten and this year we placed 7th out of 28 choruses.

York Highlands Chorus is available for performances at many venues.  We have a varied and large repertoire that includes contemporary, jazz, swing, broadway and Christmas arrangements.  We also have quartets and double quartets available for performances in smaller venues.
